Ben,
I can't believe a whole half-year has gone by. You are such a big boy. You are 17lbs 4oz, and 27.75 inches long (or 28.5, they got 2 different measurements, Dr. P thinks you were stretched out too far on one, so she redid it.) You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and I'm sure will be wearing 12 month pj's soon, as you grow out of the length so fast.
You are becoming more aware of your surroundings every day. You know exactly when your mama walks into the room - you follow her back and forth and whimper when she disappears. I think it's safe to say you're a mama's boy (and that's just a-ok by me).
Bath time has become fun time. It's so much fun watching you try to grab the water as we dump it all over you. As much as you're going to hate to hear me say this, your sister enjoys helping us give you a bath - while she's sitting in the tub with you. Yeah, that's right. But don't worry, you pee in the water to get back at her!
We've officially given you a new nickname - Pterodactyl. Why you may ask? Because you don't seem to like laughing outwardly. Instead, you suck in real fast and it makes a squealing sound - like the sound a pterodactyl makes (or at least the sound museums and the movies say pterodactyls make). It's pretty awesome. Every time you do it, we yell "pterodactyyyyllllll".
You're also almost sleeping through the night. You wake up a couple times and get pretty ticked off because you lost your pacifier but you fall right back to sleep when I get up and give it to you. Your daddy continues to sleep through the whole thing - lazy bum.
Daddy seems to enjoy your help in the morning. He's been working hard to reverse the effects of the last two and a half years (the "law school years") and gets up early to work out. You generally get up between 5:15 and 5:30 every morning which gives him added motivation to get his butt out of bed. He gets you out of bed, puts you in your rocker, and takes you to the garage where you work out with him. He says you're good company (and in better shape than he is).
It's been a fast six months. We're looking forward to the months to come and we love you so much!
Love,
Mama
