As many of you have probably heard, there is one airline that has decided to charge passengers for bringing carry-on bags on the plane. This charge is in addition to a charge for checking bags.
What you may not have heard is that airlines are currently mulling a "Mt. Etna" fee. This fee would charge airline passengers for each volcanic eruption that takes place on this planet. Rest assured that the fee does not only relate to above-ground eruptions. ALL eruptions (including those under water) are eligible for the fee. In fact, I have heard that the airlines are installing underwater cameras to ensure they don't miss an eruption.
On top of that, I have learned that each American should anticipate receiving an invoice in the mail from each of the major airline companies. In addition to booking fees, checked bag fees, carry-on baggage fees, and volcanic eruption fees, each of the major airlines are implementing a "breath of fresh air" fee. Every person that is currently breathing is eligible for the fee. That is, the airlines are now going to bill you directly for not using their services.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Happy flying...or not!
