#2

In case you missed my subtle hints, we are indeed expecting Baby vonFrinkenhagen numero dos, or as I fondly refer to him/her, #2. I like #2. It's like a pencil, or the guy in Austin Powers played by Rob Lowe. It's the 2nd guy in charge. And, sorry, #2, I have a feeling that big sister isn't going to bow down and let you be in charge. You'll see. :)

So here is #2 at around 7 1/2 weeks...crazy that was 4 weeks ago. Right now I'm 11 weeks along and we're heading for another appointment this week. As of 7 weeks everything was looking good, he/she had a heartrate around 150bpm. This go around, if everything is ok, we should be able to hear it on the doppler, which is my favorite sound!

My mother has informed me that I will do the same updates with #2 as I did with Kaylynn. She's making sure I don't get lazy this time around. Here's what babycenter.com says is going on at 11 weeks:

"Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. His/Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under his/her gums, and some of his/her bones are beginning to harden.

He/She's already busy kicking and stretching, and his/her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as his/her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that his/her diaphragm is forming."

And in case anyone is curious, I am about 110% sure that #2 is a boy. Which means we're probably having another little girl. We're happy either way...a boy would be a fun change, but little girls are oh-so-sweet. I'll leave the sweet things for another post, since this is #2's time to shine.

So, welcome #2. You're already a very much loved addition to our crazy little family.
