13 Weeks

Nothing new and dramatic happened this past week. I did a lot of sitting and walking around the room, courtesy of the TAKS test. Blah.

Kaylynn knocked her forehead pretty good last night on the kitchen table. It immediately bruised and got a bump. Brian (the concussion expert) assured me that all would be well. Mom always said you know it's fine when it swells out, because swelling in is bad. Let's just say, it hasn't slowed her down any.

Here's what's going on with #2 this week:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, his/her veins and organs are clearly visible through his/her still-thin skin, and his/her body is starting to catch up with his/her head — which makes up just a third of his/her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

#2 isn't making me near as hungry anymore, which is good. I think that weight gain issue won't be an issue this go around. All my kids at school know now. They're really funny. Saying things like, "don't bend over, you'll squish the baby." "Have you thought of names? I mean, if it's a boy, Tom obviously." "You better be sit down and be quiet, she's gonna go all pregnant on you." "Mrs. Frink, you're starting to bubble." Really, kid. I'm not boiling, how can I bubble? :) "Are you STILL eating lunch??"

Kaylynn gets to play with her cousin on Monday. We've been practicing saying "Anthony" so hopefully she can say it for him. Oh, did we mention that we're having another nephew in September? No? Well, we are! :) Exciting things happening all across the familia.
