I have a question for anyone out there who has an answer. Why pink for little girls?
I'm not anti-pink. I own pink articles of clothing myself and we've gotten some uber cute pink and purple clothes for Kaylynn that I can't wait to dress her in. I just have a beef with pink and purple being the only colors available to an infant girl. Again, not hating on pink (or purple for that matter).
The main reason for my venting...I can't find any stinking socks for Kaylynn that aren't pink, purple, or white. We want to bring her home (as of right now) in an outfit my Grandma Honey bought us, which is a turquoise dress with brown flowers at the bottom. My problem is...I CAN'T FIND ANY SOCKS THAT AREN'T PINK OR PURPLE!!!
So if anyone out there runs across a pair of dark brown or turquoise infant socks, please tell me and save my sanity! Otherwise, my daughter is going to start off mismatching from Day 1 and I don't think that's any way for a little girl to start life. She's already at a disadvantage for having me for a mother, she needs some chance to be girly. :)

Do they make infant boys' socks in brown or turquoise or some other color that would complement? I imagine infant feet are probably about the same no matter the gender.
Maybe you could take a turquoise marker and polka dot some white socks.
So, that's a good question. Check out these two links:

To para-phrase, before WWII, nobody really cared what color your baby was, and most dressed them in all white. But, in the early 1900's, the trend started where Pink was for BOYS & Blue for girls.
However, with WWI and WWII, blue was extensively used in uniforms, so, blue became masculine, reversing the trend, and women were incouraged to "embrace their femininity" and wear pink.
So there you go, it's the NAZI's fault!
I check the boys department everytime.
Found some online...Jennifer, oddly enough, I went to gap.com right before I checked my email, we found the same pair. Last I checked, the actual store didn't have them, but I'm definitely going to scope them out again, because I can't make myself pay $7 shipping on a $3 pair of socks. :)
It's Brian (sitting in traffic on the bus AGAIN...more on that shortly). Can't we just give the white socks to Gus and let him take them outside and muddy them up a little? There are some other materials out in the yard that could help "brown them up" a little...
