You are doing some new things this month. You try to grab pretty much everything. Your favorite thing to grab is my hair. The second I pick you up, you have a handful of hair and it goes straight to your mouth. If anyone ever sees me with a strand or 10 of "stiff" hair, it is courtesy of you. But besides hair, you grab your duck on the carseat, the octopus on your floor mat, and lately, Kaylynn's books. She's not a fan of that one, but when the 3 of us read together, you are so curious about those pages. You NEED to feel them, rub them, bend them - all of which makes Kaylynn say "NO Ben!"
You are officially an unswaddled sleeper. Not sure if you like it. We're still trying to get your night-time schedule set. You will fall asleep, but wake up 2-5 times a night, not hungry, but just wanting your pacifier. The second you get it, you're back to sleep. Not sure why you wake up for it. If you know why and you're holding out on me - fill me in! We give you your topper bottle at 8pm now and you're off to bed after that, instead of having an evening nap, then bottle at 10 and going to bed. You sleep until the same time each morning regardless of when we put you down.
You are so close to rolling back to front. We see you working hard, face almost planted in the floor, but that arm just keeps getting in your way. I give it another 1-2 weeks and you'll be a rolling pro. Maybe you'll enjoy the luxury of belly sleeping at that point.
Um, let's see here. You love to talk to us now. You were doing this last month, but it's just progressing more and more. If you're happy and awake, chances are you're talking. I know you aren't really saying it, but you do have the "mmmm" sound down and make sounds that sound like "mmmama". And I always thought the "d" sound came before "m" or is that just what they tell Mamas to make them happy?
No teeth yet, but you are a fountain of drool still. You can soak a shirt in no time. We started oatmeal this month and tried some avocado. Not sure you enjoy the texture yet. When you see the spoon coming, your mouth opens like a little bird, but the second the spoon hits your mouth, you make the "This is NASTY" face. We'll just keep practicing. I will say that Kaylynn still likes eating infant oatmeal. That or she just wants to eat babyfood with you.
Next up, sitting like a big boy - not far now!
Keep being the sweet, snuggable, lovable baby boy that you are. You make our hearts melt!
Love,
Mama
