It's Been One Week...

I feel like singing that Barenaked Ladies song.

Today Kaylynn is 1 week old!

I really don't know how to describe the past week. We came home from the hospital on Friday afternoon. The weekend was kinda rough for me, but Kaylynn came through like a champ. We had a scary visit to the ER on Sunday night due to some bathroom issues for her. We arrived there at 5:05pm (according to the form I filled out) and got called back at midnight. The worst part about the ER is that it is full of sick people. Well, 15 minutes before we got called back, Kaylynn took care of business, she's officially on formula and thriving.

One of our favorite things to do is just watch her little faces. She's got her "I'm disgusted" face, her "I'm so surprised" face, and her "I really hate being burped" eyebrow-raised face. She's such an animated little girl, even when she's sleeping. We can't help but laugh when she's crying, because we know it's not as bad as she thinks it is. She even gives us little smiles (though I'm not sure she knows she's smiling at us...)

We had our first appointment with the pediatrician today. When we left the hospital, she weighed 6lbs 4oz, and today she's back up at 6lbs 9oz. Doc said the goal is to be up at birth weight by 2 weeks, so we're good. She's in the 10-25 percentile for weight, 50-75 for height, and 5-10 for head circumference. I'm still pleased with the last number - she has a little head! In any case, the doctor confirmed what we knew all along - she's pretty much perfect. :) We also don't have to go back until she's 8 weeks! She'll be a completely different baby then.

Here are some photos to commemorate her first week.

She's shooting us the finger! I think most people get one of these shots as some point.

To show you that things aren't always peachy in Kaylynn's world.

I tried to take out the pacifier, but she wouldn't have it at that point in time.

And finally, we thought that no one's first week should be without a trip, so Kaylynn got to learn about the recycle center today. It must have been very stimulating, because she's knocked out in the carseat.

She looks so much like Brian in that first photo!
