10 Days of Kaylynn!

Our sweet girl is going to be two whole years old in 10 days. Though, if you ask her how old she's going to be, she says, "fourteen". That or "two months". No lie. Since we have 10 days starting Dec. 1 until the big day, we've decided to do a daily "Top 10 of Kaylynn's Favorites". Hopefully we'll continue this each year. These will be in no particular ranking, just as they come to my head. :)

So, starting with #10:

HELPING

Kaylynn is Miss Helpy-Helperton.

When she hears the dryer open, she comes running, " Kayin help Mama". She likes to pull all the clothes out of the dryer and into the basket. Then I'll put the wet clothes on the dryer lid and she pushes them in. When we're all done, her favorite part is to slam the door shut!

She also likes to help with the dishwasher. She's started handing me plates and cups out of the dishwasher for me to put away. We've only dropped one glass, too (knock on wood!) When it's time to load it up, her duty is to put the silverware in the basket. She tends to overload one compartment with everything, but that's ok.

Also, she's very good at helping with her little brother. She will give him his binky when it falls out, and is actually getting gentle about it, instead of just trying to shove it in. She's great at helping burp him, patting him on the back very gently, then rubbing his back, just like she sees Mama and Daddy do. When he finally lets it rip, she proclaims, "Good burp, Ben!" And anytime she hears him crying, she always says, "It's ok, Ben."

Why, even today, she's helping me. It's December 1st, which means it's time to put up the Christmas decorations. We unpacked the Christmas tree, she helped hold the light wheel for me, and even tried to untangle the red beads.

Stay tuned for #9 tomorrow!

Love your new blog background and the picture at the top - too cute! Wy helps with the dyer also but I have yet to let him help me with dishes - maybe we will try that tonight to see how he does. I am not sure a boy helps the same way a little girl does. I am thinking things might be thrown or banged around a little more with a boy!!! Love the top 10 things idea - I might have to steal that when April rolls around if I can remember!

LOVE IT!! I have been wanting to do this too and it's on my list for the end of the year...Katelyn's top 10 in 2010. Good for you for tackling this blog in the mist of birthdays and holidays!! I wish we were close since I think Kaylynn and Katelyn would be buddies for sure.
