Things have been crazy around these parts, with your Daddy preparing for his last round of finals, Kaylynn having this hacking cough, preparing for her birthday & graduation party, etc. etc. etc. During all of this hoopla, you turned 1 month old!
As you've probably gathered by now, you had a rocky start. But by now, we think we have you figured out. It seemed that everyone wanted something to be wrong with you. It was either you were too yellow still (even though the doctor wasn't concerned) or you couldn't breathe. Turns out, you have reflux (silent reflux to be exact). You hardly ever spit up, but you make a wheezy/gurgly sound quite often, especially when you eat. You are taking Prevacid to try to help the pain, but I don't know if it's working. I don't like to see you hurting.
Right now, you wake up once a night, usually around 2 or 3. We thought you were going to be a big eater, like your Daddy, but so far, you just eat around 4oz every 4-5 hours. At your 1 month check-up, you had grown another inch, in just two weeks, putting you at 22.5 inches (in the 86th percentile). You finally broke the 8lb mark, as well, weighing in at 8lbs 5.9oz (in the 17th percentile). Translation - long and lean, my boy. We can see you starting to fill out some in the thighs and cheeks, and as I write this, I have officially packed away your NB size clothes. 0-3 are still a little loose around your waist, but you need them all for length.
You are the best snuggler. You'd prefer to be laying on our bellies all the time, and that's just fine by me. Gives us an excuse to sit around loving on you. Your big sister is loving you more and more each day. She likes to help us with you, but is still a bit rough. She's going to teach you so much one day...she's pretty smart. She likes to call you "Benny boo boo boo boo", as she's heard Mama and Daddy say it.
Did I mention you have the most beautiful blue eyes? Dark blue eyes. Your hands and feet are huge! And I think you are going to look like your daddy.
