Coupon-ing?

I've been doing some reading on how some people save crazy amounts of money using coupons. Why can I not do this? 90% of what I buy is coupon-less. It's crazy and ridiculous.

Is there anyone out there who doesn't buy a ton of processed foods who saves lots of money with coupons? I can't leave the grocery store without spending at least $20. I seriously need to start using a list.

Now THIS is Spring

Saturday and Sunday - yeah that wasn't "real" Spring. Today is real Spring.

Kaylynn had her 15 month well baby check up today. It was a crazy long appointment and we can't figure out why. A lot of waiting in the exam room. Kaylynn is doing just fine, she's actually very calm during the appointments. You wouldn't be able to guess that, seeing as everytime I ask her for a kiss, she turns her head and says "NO." Somehow Dr. P. is able to look in her eyes and ears and she is just so still.

Afterwards we came home and took advantage of the good weather. She had a great time playing in the back yard and helping me water flowers.

Need proof that she had fun? I think these filthy socks speak for themselves.

Through the Eyes of a Five Year Old

This is Tanner-man. Isn't he cute, all snaggle-toothed? Quite possibly the coolest 5 year old around. He also happens to by my 1st cousin, once removed (we looked that up at school the other day...sometimes it's all about the life lessons.)

Anywho, Mom & I began our Spring Break by heading to Brenham/Burton to visit Honey & PawPaw. It was a beautiful, sunny morning and my cousin, Abby, and her kids came over to play for a little bit, before we headed out to Austin. I got out my camera, to snap some photos of Tanner doing some swinging.

But that didn't last long. Tanner hopped off and declared that he wanted to take a picture. Actually, he wanted to take a few pictures. All of the photos below are taken by Tanner-man on our big "fancy" camera.

Not bad, eh? I think he's pretty good. A budding photographer. His mama is hoping this takes off...photography could be a very lucrative career.

Here he is again, Ansel Adams in the making.

15 Months!

It has been very hard to get pictures of Kaylynn lately. She won't slow down for anyone. We go to our 15 month well baby check up after spring break, but I'm fairly certain she's growing just fine.

Fingers crossed, we don't have a picky eater. Why just tonight she tried roasted red pepper & goat cheese on crackers...and loved it.

Things Kaylynn is up to now...let's see, um...

WALKING!! She figured it out for real about 2 weeks ago, now it seems like she's running. She gets better and better each day. The video above isn't very good, but it shows her moving about, with her milk, and chilling in the cozy coupe. This is a typical night for her. I've tried to tell her she can't drink and drive. :)

TALKING! I've got a list going, but we're well over 20+ words. Some of the constantly (constantly!) repeated words are:

NO (in many tones, the loud short NO, the two syllable no-oo)
bus
poop
nigh-nigh (night night)
bye
soft (said as she's rubbing my hair, Gus, Zoe..)

She's recently learned to tell Gus to "SIT" (said with an emphatic hand gesture showing him where to sit!)

Kaylynn's also getting a little attitude. She wants what she wants when she wants it. Lately that "want" involves walking, being outside, and playing with a ball. If she can do those things, she's happpy. If it's anything you want her to do, eh, not so much. She's reaching that lovely stage where she throws a flat out fit if she is mad; arches her back and won't get in her carseat, throwing things she doesn't want, etc. Fun, fun!

She likes dancing the chicken dance (not really, but moves to the chicken dance song), playing with her baby doll (she's actually starting to be sweet to the doll and not body slamming her everytime she plays with her), and pouring tea for us to share in her new tea set. Books are still one of her favorite toys and she's starting to sit still and listen to the stories more, instead of turning the pages on me before I finished 2 words. She'll bring us books to read and want to crawl in our laps.

Even with her little 'tude, she's so much fun! She's such a little person, we just love her!!

Slackers

Yes, we've been slackers, I know. I promise there will be an update tonight or tomorrow, for a sweet girl is going to be 15 months old tomorrow!

And there is a lot to update for her!
