Why Am I Such a Slacker?

Seriously, I used to be so good with this thing.  Maybe it is because now, every time I sit and try open the computer, the kids run over thinking that I am playing Candy Crush and want to "do the oranges" or "do the yellows" for me.  (FYI, year 2033, Candy Crush is a ridiculous game that is a huge time suck, and we are all addicted.)

Nothing new and major going on, just keep on living, L-I-V-I-N.  ;)  Summer days mean pool fun.  Kaylynn and Ben are little tan kids - the epitome of the Coppertone Baby.

Here are a few Instagram updates on the summer so far.  We've got a fun trip to west in store soon, which we are very excited about!

Yes, that is ice cream in his hair. upload Tasting the finished product. #icecreamintheirhair Ice cream makers #4thofjuly Trying my hand at a Pinterest find. Thanks Pinterest! #4thofjuly In the summer, sometimes we have to cool off by taking a trip to PetsMart to see the fish. You'd think we were at a zoo or something, the way they run around checking out every exhibit. You'd think we were at a zoo. #itisreallyjustpetsmart Though, all-in-all, I can't complain about the weather much. Some days are cool enough that we can actually "enjoy" the park and not leave red-faced and drenched in sweat. Ben: "better get on the pirate ship before it leaves! Yo ho, mateys!" In June, we got a new member of the family - Phyllis the Pilot. Phyllis is after Phyllis on The Office. Some people don't think it is a fitting name, but we love her! :) We were very impressed at how well-behaved Thing 1 and Thing 2 were at the dealership. Test driving cars and what not. This is going to be happening waaay too soon! She "drove" Ben and I to the zoo, and even put in a DVD for Ben to watch. #growinguptoofast One day, daddy surprised everyone with a trip to see Monster's U! Every since then, Ben's been going around saying, "Monster's Inc., coming to dvd." No idea where he got that from, but it is HILARIOUS. Ben's first movie theatre experience!!! #monstersuniversity At the beginning of June, we took a mini-trip down to Galveston to celebrate my Uncle Bob's 80th birthday. We had some kid fun time at Moody Gardens. Might not have been the most fun way for the dad's to spend Father's Day, but the kids had fun. They are still talking about those pyramids. They are clearly excited to be spending their Father's Day wandering around Moody Gardens. #fathersday 3-D Flight of the Monarchs! Just a couple of red-eyes tree frogs. Sunset boat ride with the cousins.. #kidsfirstboatride #galveston Upside down. Cool kids #unclebobsbirthday And back to the very beginning of summer - we finished up Blast Ball for Kaylynn. The Super Heroes did great and Ben was a great team kid-brother! He's looking forward to getting to play on his own next year! Super Heroes!! Super Heroes took the field for the last time today. Awesome job this year, Word Girl and the honorary team brother!

Fightin' Texas Aggie Baseball!

Friday, June 3rd, Ben got to experience his first Aggie baseball game. Brian spent his childhood playing ball and we hope Ben loves it as much as his daddy did. When Kaylynn was younger (that feels weird to type...you know, her only being 2 and all) every time she picked up something with her left hand, Brian would always say, "No...can't waste a left hand on the girl!" :) Apparently being a south paw is a good thing for pitching. For the record - we didn't force her to be right-handed, it is just turning out that way.

Another plus for getting up to the motherland (CS) is seeing our good pals, the Josefys! Oh, and Brian ate Layne's for the first time. How he went through 5 years of school in that town and never ate there, I have no idea.

When we got to the game, we got awesome front row seats in what was always the student section. The students weren't quite so rowdy; maybe they were playing nice for the NCAA folks. Oh, and those seats were available because the sun was blazing right on them. That was neat fun for a 7month old, a 1 year old, a 2 year old, and some pale adults. Luckily we hang out with people who plan in advance. Ben had to sport a pink ball cap to block the sun. His daddy was appalled. :)

Kaylynn enjoying her first snow cone!

Frink Family - sporting red snow cone teeth!

After a walk with Bree, Kaylynn was ready to cheer on the Ags.

Sweaty, sunscreened hair = cute mohawk on a precious boy!

AHHHHH

I (Hayley) got pooped on last night. It shot out like a rocket and my cat-like reflexes didn't even have time to move my hand.
Oddly enough, I wasn't totally grossed out. They always say that once your a parent those things don't bother you. I guess they were right.
