Redneck Sandbox

What do you do when your children love digging in the dirt (or rocks, they are not picky) but your husband is anti-children's toys in the back yard? Well, since my flower beds were off limits (due to a little girl constantly picking the flowers and then trying to replant them), we made a redneck sandbox.
A plastic bin that goes belongs in your closet + leftover sugar sand from Uncle Cliff's house = our sandbox. How this is any different than the green turtle sandbox you can buy at Wal-Mart, I can't tell you. The turtle would look nicer, I think, but whatever. :)

Ben has been into riding the bike lately. He can't really ride it, but he likes to say "bike" and try to climb on it.

More sandbox playing.

Ready to move on.  Ben has a short attention span.

Mr. Blue Eyes.  He has had a haircut since this photo.  His cut is cute, but I miss the craziness of the longer hair.

He found their wellies and insisted that they wear them.

Digging in boots.  You can see they aren't great at keeping the sand in the box.

There you go.  Our redneck sandbox.  :)

18 Months!

I'm a month late and a dollar short. That's kinda how the saying goes... Back in April, Mr. Ben turned 18 months old. He's closer to being a 2 year old than a 1 year old, now. :( Our sweet boy is growing up too fast. Just a few things to rememeber Food He Loves: Ketchup Cherry tomatoes Ketchup Milk (still on coconut or almond) Cheese Peanut butter sandwiches Bread Ketchup (see a trend???) Eggs Things He Loves: Throwing balls Going for rides in the wagon Books His blankets (he calls them "ba-bits". so cute!) The remote ("mope") Eating crayons Swinging Trying to steal my ipad Of course I don't have pictures right now. They are hiding on my computer somewhere, or on the camera, or on the other hard drive. I really don't know. I might find them and update this at some point. :( Ben - this does not mean that your mother does not love you - I do, oh so very much!

Instagram Catch-Up

It is quite sad. I have this lovely, fancy camera, yet I take more pictures on my phone. At least I have some, right? I have shared most of these on facebook, but I need to preserve via blog...you know, for when I get around to doing my Blurb book or whatever.

Mr. Lazy Boy.  He loves our bed.  Like, LOVES it.

The kids love the play area at the doctor.  Talk about germ city!  :)

Kaylynn's first blastball game.  Bad News Bears taking the field (she and Brian are the two on the far right)

In the dugout.  They got to use the "big" field that the high school boys use.  I found it odd that after all my years in Frankston, that was my first time to go into the dugout.

Frink, #13 on deck.  She takes her warm-ups seriously.  We got to choose numbers, so I picked 13 in honor of her daddy.  When basketball comes around, the kids are getting #4 for their mama.

After blastball, we headed down to CS to "watch" the Aggies.  I use the term "watch" loosely.  As you can see, we spent a lot of time in the new playground at Olsen.

Sibling love.

Actually having a sweet moment.

Babies walking babies.  She insisted on bringing the stroller on the walk, and as I anticipated, I ended up carrying the stroller back, while pushing Ben and Max in the other stroller.  Fun times.

Kaylynn and Will all dressed up for Ashley's wedding.  Kaylynn walked down the aisle covering her face.  Apparently, when talking to her about the wedding, we left out the part that people would actually be watching her.  She did not like that.  Not at all.
